The close friends and supporters of Allah are the Awliya of Allah the protectors and guardians who have close spiritual connection to Allah and remember and reflect upon the guidance of Allah. There is no fear upon them although they fear Allah they only are afraid of the consequences of being held accountable to Allah and they do not grieve and they do not have grief within their hearts.
These are the ones who strongly believe in Allah and have taqwa, God consciousness and refrain from all those aspects which harm others and themselves and prevent evil from spreading and enjoin good and forbid evil for themselves and other.
They have firm belief in Allahs names, attributes knowing that Allah is All seeing, All hearing and All knowing and there is nothing hidden from Allah and a person lives accordingly knowing that Allah hears everything they say and knows everything they act upon. They have firm faith and belief in all the Prophets of Allah upon them be peace, in the books of Allah, the heavy day of qiyama the Day of judgement, the angels and the qadr divine decree of Allah the good and evil of it.
They fear Allah in public and private when they are amongst the people and even when they are alone by themselves they abstain from all evil and this is a blessing from Allah that one can prevent themselves from falling into sinful actions that harm themselves. As all sins lead to harm amongst the people, society and families. They stay away from haram and enjoin good and forbid evil.
They concentrate on the remembrance, reading and pondering, reflection and contemplation on the words of Allah from the ayats of the Quran. They take each ayat as a personal instruction and message and guidance to live by according to the context, how it is supposed to be applied in this life and the method to seek support in understanding the message and applying it according to the best practice of the shariah. The guidance and detail from Allah to believers is all found within the Quran and the Sunnah and all of this increases in love of Allah and being an obedient slave of Allah so that a person becomes a shepherd rather than a sheep. Looking after their family, friends, colleagues and the community.
They increase the amount of Nawafil acts of worship, Sunnah prayers, tahajjud, optional fasting, sadaqah, umrah, reading the adhzkar, visiting the sick, calming the people, and all the acts which help and support a person to undertake those actions which will assist towards righteousness for the sake of Allah and not for personal glorification.
The aim is to gain the love of Allah so that a person constantly is performing zikr and remembrance of Allah day and night, the recommended azkar from waking to going to sleep, and this is repeated day in day out till the doorway of death is crossed. The male and female muslims who constantly remember Allah have moved ahead of everyone and are the forerunners. All of this is designed to be a protector and supporter of the muslims so that each person can protect themselves safe guard and defend themselves and their families from the evil of those in disbelief. Undertaking this constant remembrance of all is a protection and support against evil, black magic and evil eye.
Then favouring what Allah loves over what you love, preference of what Allah loves over what a person loves, this means whatever we love for ourselves having a preference over what Allah loves is far better for us and much better for the community and society. Dedicate time to what Allah loves and spending the day and night in knowing what Allah prefers over what we prefer for ourselves. This requires educating ourselves and seeking beneficial knowledge and having the heart live by Allah names and attributes, knowing the names of Allah and living accordingly with complete trust and reliance on Allah having tawakul Allah in that everything outside of our control is better in the hands of Allah and that which we can manage for ourselves is best performed according to the guidance of Allah from Quran and Sunnah.
The people who follow these aspects are the true friends, supporters, protectors and become a Wali an intimate close guardian of Islam and the chosen way of Allah as these are the awliya of Allah who are God conscious in everything they speak and act upon. These are the friends and supporters of Allah and Allah is the best Ally and Guardian for the believers.
