Allah swt talks about people if they repent for the mischief that they create due to being arrogant and in defiance, that Allah will have mercy upon those sincerely seeking repentance and trying to reform themselves, however if they return to sinful ways then Allah SWT will return towards punishing them in this life and the hereafter and evil abode of the hellfire is a place of permanent confinement and punishment a torment prepared for the disbelievers.
The Quran is something that guides to what is most upright and is a bearer of good news for the believers who do good that they will attain a mighty reward with Allah and it warns those who do not believe in the hereafter that for them is prepared a painful punishment. The Quran is both good news and warnings to the people.
And that Allah SWT tells the people that do not pray for evil to happen to oneself or for your wealth as humans are ever hasty and praying against yourself and your wealth for evil to happen is something that Allah may answer those prayers causing misfortune to happen to those who pray for evil and this lead to loss and a swift realisation of evil to occur to that person by their own hands.
So just as a person swiftly prays for good they also pray for evil so do not seek evil to happen and occur to yourself, your family and your wealth. Humans are ever hasty and seek that which requires patience for one of the greatest blessings is to be patient and pray for goodness so that you may prosper.
