Enjoining good and forbidding evil with guidance from Allah SWT
The Meaning of Life – The remembrance often with the Knowledge backed by Truth of the worship of only Allah SWT.
There are 5 main aspects to the maqasid e shariah, which literally translates as the purposes of Islamic Law. They are listed below as:
- Life
- Deen
- Intellect
- Lineage
- Property
This means that it requires the protection of all above 5 aspects for a person with wisdom and justice. The first aspect is the protection of life, meaning the life of a person is to be protected from any harm or injustice or any zulm or oppression that may lead to a person being damaged or even that causes death.
The second aspect is Protection of religion. The way or the deen of a person so that they can carry out their main purpose of life which is to worship only Allah. The deen is the single most greatest blessing for a person. The gift and blessing of iman is the most precious and valuable aspect of life which requires a person to protect his deen upon this earth.
The third aspect is the protection of the intellect. This is where a person has to protect his entire reasoning, intelligent faculties which can be lost by some or insulted by themselves. This is where people can find their intellect complete and with intelligence where they spend their entire lives preparing for the hereafter. This could be even someone who realises the truth and acts upon it otherwise those that know the truth of the way of the oneness of Allah yet do not act upon it are insulting their own intellect. They are also insulting themselves, and other people as this is the result of those that associate any aspect of creation to the Creator, by taking a share in worship to the creation rather than the creator that is only Allah SWT, the one and only being worthy of worship. To get your intellect sound which is found in the heart you need to learn and follow and remember Allah often and obey Allah SWT.
The fourth aspect is the protection of lineage, this means that every man is supposed to try for their progeny and this has to be within the sacredness of marriage between 1 man and 1 woman that will preserve the sanctity of the sacredness of their marriage and bring offspring into this world. As children make the world a much better place to live in. This is due to the nature and beautiful wonder that children are living. They bring joy and happiness to the parents and through their lives teach the parents and the parents have to provide the means for them to learn and play until they reach from childhood to young adulthood.
The protection of lineage is the right of the children upon the parents and it is the parents right to look after and provide and manage all aspects of education and manners and learning and teaching the way of life of Islam, this is all from Allah SWT through the efforts the parents have to make to provide for their children.
Also this means that the protection of lineage is to prevent the married couple from any social aspects of that which destroys the community in terms of acts like adultery and fornication or zina as these are social evils, that destroy the family and make many problems for the children.
The protection of lineage also entails that a person prevents and protects themselves from one of the greatest trials between men and women and that is the fitna of zina and adultery, as this creates many types of sickness and diseases to spread amongst the people. Particularly the diseases of the heart that results in physical sickness in the form of STD’s and the hate, jealousy and envy that is spread through the social fabric of society in terms of those that vie with one another for increasing and spreading the evil of zina and adultery that leads to not just physical, emotional, spiritual and mental diseases but also many types of social evils to increase in society that ultimately leads to the destruction of the family unit and also the end result of losing all blessings and barakah in your lives, that will take away and consume your heart and soul into death like situation that can result in actual demise of the person or the deathness of the heart, humanity and society. This is the result of why the hopeless one and the doubtful is most pleased when husband and wife are split apart and that the children are in a state of loss and confusion and also culturally destroyed.
The fifth aspect is the protection of property or rizq. This aspect of the purposes of Islamic law is to preserve protect and maintain the persons rizq their wealth that is in the form of good health, land or property that they live in, monetary wealth that is required for sustaining family life and the community, your spouse and children that are also part of rizq and to protect and safeguard with maintaining all these aspects and all the other qualities of rizq, provision, wealth or property that a person requires living as a muslim in this dunya. It is important to acquire and build on these values and increase your rizq the best part which is beneficial knowledge that which is backed by truth, its understanding and application. The more a person acquires and collects it is important that unless saving for a specific purpose, the excess is spent on family, friends and the community. Specifically that which is spent on Allah and trading with Allah in the expanse of the earth and bringing wellbeing and removing that which is harm and evil so that you enjoin good and remove oppression or evil.
With these five aspects of the purposes of Islamic Law the way of islam it is important to maintain steadfastness and remaining upon the truth and also enjoying the comedy of your travels on earth wherever it may lead to, particularly the centre of the earth. Where it yearns for its believers to at least make it to there within once in their life time for the pilgrimage.
This requires guidance from Allah and preparation all day every day till you reach your destination whether you make it to mecca or not it doesn’t matter, the key is that you are preparing for making it to the centre of the earth where it will be warm yet enjoyable with sweetness of faith. As each sweat drop is a reminder that Mecca or anywhere on earth is where the people yearn to Remember Allah with Certainty and conviction of 1 Allah following and obeying Haqooq Allah and making all rights of Haqooq Al Abad with having good company as this shows a person is on the guidance of Allah and the aspects related to all these are Wisdom, Protection, Justice, Love, Fear Hope, Daily repentance tawbah, Steadfast in the way of Islam and preparation in everything that work for the hereafter as death is a certainty just as the certainty of eternity, or immortality after the one true death.
So enjoy the comedy of honest living and family life particularly amongst the society that community that is trying to observe and make a living so that life and the continuation of your progeny rather than wasting in cultural destructive ways of ruining the self, family and community as states may realise that a person is like a weapon neither good nor bad it depends how you use it.
