The actual value that buffet wanted to understand was that why people appreciate it’s value when it doesn’t make much sense other than what perception a person has of it. Gold has metal properties in terms of transparency in its value and this is also the case with silver and certain other metals.
This is why it is the most easy to understand and simple yet useful form for trading and has ancient styles of using this metal for something that will make the economic system backed by transparent but valuable investments particularly where if gold remains scarce.
