Every soul is mortgaged to the hellfire except those people of the right hand, meaning to protect yourself and your family and loved ones from where every person is heading towards just like a person in a river and that river is headed for hellfire. It is crucial to make efforts for a person to remove himself or protect himself and their loved ones, family and others that they do not end up in the hellfire.
The journey and lessons today took me to brother Jawad and his good friend brother big beard. There I was on the steps trying to negotiate a reduced rate for logo designs when brother Jawad and his son Ibrahim and brother big beard greeted me with Salams. I was so glad to see all three of them and made my way following them to the descent of where the place of good sense and sweet fragrances are in abundance of barakah.
I first of all offered little Ibrahim a fig and he with the good manners told me that it is better if you have the first fig, I replied this one is for you and brother jawad agreed that it was good for him. Little Ibrahim is a gentle good child and with bismillah consumed the fig. I then offered a fig to brother big beard who obviously has strength of good character. He stated that tin and zaytoon are oaths taken by Allah upon these two fruits of Jannah. I then offered brother jawad a fig aswell.
Brother big beard had brought some samosas and they were as they say in the urdu language tin in number although they were potato based samosas. I offered the first samosa that was given to me to little Ibrahim the child has better manners than most adults. He stated that it was better if I consumed that samosa. Brother big beard split one of the samosas in half and brother jawad gave little Ibrahim the half that was better to his son. And the last samosa that was slightly over fried was in the hands of brother Jawad, who poured a glass of next cola from a 1.5 litre bottle and with the samosa drank the first sips of next cola.
Brother big beard then also drank from the same glass a few sips of next cola just like brother Jawad while standing up. When there was just over an amount of tin sips and more left in the glass I picked up the glass vessel and sat down and sipped three times the next cola.
It was then that brother big beard informed me of a hadith of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him that it is acceptable to drink standing up and even acceptable to eat and drink even while walking. The reason being that it is allowed to be when in certain circumstances possible to drink the next cola standing up and also sitting down as during the time of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him people were told that they could eat and drink both sitting or while standing and even while walking.
Brother big beard informed me of two hadith that when a person is allowed to not drink while standing and also allowed to drink while standing in different narrations was due to only a scholar of hadith that is able to explain to the people that do not have this knowledge that what is meant by this is that the companions at that time stated that it was truthfully narrated that it is allowed to drink both standing up and sitting down and the reasoning behind these two hadith which may appear to contradict is actually not the case but the scholar of hadith stated that it means its ok to take the meaning that when its not allowed to stand while drinking is about actually meaning with the science and narration of the two hadith together that it is allowed in both respects. This is a lesson for those that think they can take a hadith and explain it without knowing the science and chain of narration behind the hadith.
One can obviously talk about that which is clear and simple and understood that has been already explained within tafsir and by the scholars, care must be taken not to misguide yourself or others by twisting something which is easy to understand and able to be expxlained and talked about with your family and loved ones.
Brother big beard informed everyone that it was time for asr prayer so he will be going to the congregational prayer and brother jawad said he will be going to the congregational prayer of the other masjid that was later on by about 45 minutes. This gave me the opportunity to talk to brother jawad about certain sadaqah that I was speaking with my Mrs about last night. That the sadaqah of giving red meat is definitely one of the best forms of sadaqah (Charity). I told him that I wanted to give mutton and that my wife was saying to give beef. Brother Jawad informed me that not all people are able to eat beef due to high blood pressure problems so it would be better to give mutton to the poor and needy. He then informed me that it is better to give a cooked meal rather than uncooked mutton meat pieces as this would create more sincere love and supplications from the people who are hungry as they would not have to make any effort to use their own resources to cook the meat for consumption.
As some people when they receive uncooked meat are sometimes left with a feeling of annoyance that there back in the kitchen cooking when it is preferable to be grateful that Allah SWT provided some food for consumption that can be cooked by their better half, if they are not willing to cook themselves.
It was then that brother jawad informed me that giving the sadaqah of the means to provide fresh drinking water to people who are thirsty or in a place where there is scarce amount of water. That there was a story of a scholar that once had an injury on his lower leg and that with all different types of healing from different doctors he could not get it healed, so he decided to visit another scholar that would be able to provide the means from the people to make a supplication for him that there is someone with ill health and that they could use some assistance with supplication or knowledge that could heal them.
This announcement was made in a masjid and a knowledgeable person from what brother jawad was telling me was that it was a decent certain woman that said to provide the means to give fresh drinking water to the people that need it for their life to continue in a place where there maybe scarcity of fresh drinking water.
That every time a person uses a well to draw water or a hand water pump to draw water for themselves or their families or loved ones or any other thirsty soul that this would be the way that Allah SWT would remove the illness from the sick person that would have provided the means for the fresh drinking water to the people. So every time a person draws water from the well or the water hand pump or even in this day and age a solar powered water pump or even a tap connected to a fresh drinking water supply they would be removing any problems and sickness within their lives and evil would also be removed from around them and from within them as giving sadaqah of fresh drinking water is one of the best forms of sadaqah charity.
Today was a good day. The premium spring water from Shah Allah Ditta Caves is fresh and united we drink.
